SOME FLOWERS IN THE GARDEN

This Acanthus Mollis has been in the garden for a few years and this only the second time that it's flowered so well.

Verbena Bonariensis

One of our new rambling roses in flower.

Another new rambler flowering along with an beautiful pink Achillea.

Paul added a couple of orange and tangerine coloured Kniphofia's to his tropical area and I think they do add a little zing.

The Phormium Yellow Wave is in flower.

a closer view of the flower. We plan to move this in the autumn over to the tropical area and move the rose that's on the right hand side in that area to here.

The damp area is coming into it's own with lots of leaf and flower.

The Ligularia's which we split at the beginning of the year and still quite small but will get bigger next year.
this one with the bigger flowers is Ligularia Przewalskii

and the tall slimmer petalled one is The Rocket. We also have Ligularia Desdemona which is not yet in flower which is more like an orange daisy flower.

Since this photo was taken the Agapanthus flower buds are starting to open, so hopefully I'll be able to show a photo soon of them all in flower!

STRANGE HAPPENINGS

Well we have a couple of strange happenings in the garden, First I spotted this and called Paul to look at it,neither of us had ever seen it before!
I let Paul take these close up photo's!!

I saw thus strange happening on this Shasta daisy plant

It reached from one flower head to the other!

And this is the maker! A spider!

Hopefully it was only spending the day before moving on to pastures new, so hope it's not it's nest!!!

Next is this plant that for some reason instead of growing tall and straight it's leaning over and flat!

and still it tries to flower!!

Strange goings on indeed!!!
